With the start of November we all turn our thoughts to the holidays. We’ve gone through the Fruits of the Spirit, we can go over what to do with it all. Each of the fruits have to be used together or they don’t work as well by themselves. When we use all the items they build on each other and come out to be a powerful testimony for Christ. Earlier a friend mentioned that I was too nice and forgiving of something that happened. I smiled and said it’s the Jesus in me that’s the difference. It’s not something we would normally do on our own, but when we embrace Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control they help point others to Christ. As Thanksgiving is just around the corner, we need to remember that in our lives when we’re feeling tired or frustrated at life, that there are so many ways to be thankful. A roof over our heads, meals every day, loved ones around us so make sure to count the good things and the bad things won’t seem nearly as bad. They don’t go away, but they get a little less dark and horrible where we can make it through today.
Remember Jesus is not only helping us to show these to others, but he’s waiting to show it to us as well. I’m down for some of his Love and Patience in my life for all the times I mess up.
