Truth Be Told

There is a new song by Matthew West named “Truth Be Told.” Part of it goes like this: “I say I'm fine, yeah I'm fine, oh I'm fine, hey I'm fine, but I'm not; I'm broken. And when it's out of control I say it's under control, but it's not; and you know it. I don't know why it's so hard to admit it, when being honest is the only way to fix it. There's no failure, no fall; There's no sin You don't already know.” It’s hard to admit to each other that our lives are not what they should be or that we feel out of sync with what God’s desires for us. We may be able to hide the things from people, but, just like the song says, God already knows. If God already knows, why do we have such a hard time admitting to one another that our lives aren’t perfect, that we’re not flawless or spotless? We all have wounds and scars. We all face difficulties in life. God tells us to lean on each other and to build each other up. How can we do that, if we can’t be transparent with each other about our struggles and shortcomings? God already knows your life isn’t picture-perfect, even if that’s the life you try to portray. Don’t be afraid to be open with your Christian brothers and sisters… because you never know when your story may just help someone else through a struggle or situation of their own. ~Robin
