Have you ever wanted something so badly that you try to bargain with the Lord to get it? If I can only have this Lord, I’ll never do that again. Sometimes, our greatest wants are just that: it’s what we want but may not be what God has planned for us. You want this big promotion, new house, or for someone to recover, but we don’t always get what we want, no matter how badly we want it. Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. Some of the biggest plans I’ve had for our family have been closed off. At the time I was heartbroken, but God has proven time and again that he has control, and if I step back and look at the situation, my biggest desires were just that. They were my desires, not his. When we decide to trust God’s will and God’s timing, it frees us up to focus on what’s truly important, and we have peace knowing that God is in charge. Allow God to work in your life today and guide you to your future. ~Robin
