Life has no Undo Button

Have you ever done or said something and immediately wished you could take it back? Of course, you have! We all have! Unlike a Word document where you can hit ctrl+z and undo what you just did, there is no “undo” option in life. We can think back to situations—maybe a conflict or confrontation—that we really wish had gone differently, that we’d said or done something differently. There’s no “undo” option for these things, but with God, there is. It’s called forgiveness. When God forgives us, it’s like we’d never committed that sin. Will there still be consequences? Yes, we still have to live with the consequences of our decisions, but God does not hold our sin against us. God says in Hebrews 8:12 “For I will be merciful towards their iniquities and I will remember their sins no more.” So, even though there’s no “undo” option in life, we have forgiveness from God through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Since we have God’s forgiveness, it sets us free to forgive ourselves and to forgive other people, just as God has already forgiven us. ~Robin.
