We’ve heard a lot lately about how cleaning out our homes will spark Joy. It essentially it will because we’ll have cleaner homes which supposedly leads to less stress. What if we took the idea of Joy and used it to spark something in other parts of our lives?
Nehemiah 8:10 tells us “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
If we take the spark of Joy and when something makes us mad or frustrated and try to apply Joy to the situation it will help smooth things on all levels. A calm reminder that we are God’s children in stressful situations.
While cleaning toilets isn’t Joyful, there can be Joy in knowing that we aren’t spreading sickness and germs. What if my spouse did something and it’s not bringing me Joy? Well, is your spouse alive? Healthy? Then take some Joy that they are still will you and can annoy you. It’s very hard to find Joy in some situations, but if we start looking for small things that can bring Joy to the situation then I think you’ll be amazed at how Joy spreads to other parts of your life.
